The Denmark exchange project
Mr Nicholls has set up a project with a school in Denmark in which we will exchange photos and editing them. I have had a go, myself, editing some of the photos they had sent us; this page will therefore document the work I have done with them.
My first attempt
This is the first go I had trying to edit a photo they had sent us. I had used two pictures on the flickr that they had sent us. When I originally started, I was trying to mold the two faces together, to give the picture a slight picasso feel to it. I really like the idea of using the two photos to create a completely new person. the photo I wanted to create would be some sort of deformed creature, much like a Picasso portrait.
What worked well?I particularly like the white words which expand across the photos. The words translate into "A Denmark exchange of art." When I originally did this, I wanted there to be some sort of writing, regardless of if it was discreet or not; I thought this would bring something new to the table, and I thought that nobody else would do this, both people in my class and the Denmark students. I also thought that the text was some sort of message in a bottle; that is why I did it in another language that wasn't english. I also like the layers which I have used in the photo, this was accidental, that the eyes would be in the middle of the photo. Originally I wanted the eyes to be at the top and then I would have went to get another layer of some hair. However I prefer the results which I have got from what I did.

What didn't work wellI could have possibly used a different text font. I wanted to play it safe with the normal white text; I should take more risks next time, perhaps, when using photoshop. I may have also done the font to big. At the time of doing it I wanted the text to be big and in your face. For when in doubt, make it big. I could have made the text a little bit smaller, to make the text easier to read. Additionally, I should have made the image bigger; when I was on photoshop, for some weird reason, it resize the original pictures and made it smaller. This may be because I cropped the image but I digress. Also next time I am using photoshop, I want to ensure that my skills are better to make sure I do not cause any inconvenience when editing photographs.
